Burn Permit Request - Notice and Acknowledgment
Important Notice
Submission of this form does NOT constitute approval of a burn permit.
Open burning is strictly prohibited unless and until you have received
confirmation and authorization from the Town Forest Fire Warden or authorized designee.
Failure to obtain proper authorization prior to burning may result in violations of
applicable local, State, and/or Federal laws and regulations, and may subject
you to enforcement action, penalties, or liability for damages.
You are required to make contact with the Fire Warden, either by phone, in person, or by other approved means
to obtain confirmation and approval of your burn permit.
By proceeding, you acknowledge and agree that you understand this requirement and will contact
a Fire Warden as stated in order to lawfully obtain your burn permit. You can check your permit status by goint to Permit Status.
You further acknowledge that you understand and will comply with all applicable Vermont laws
and regulations regarding permitted burning.
Additionally, by proceeding, you agree that you will not hold the City or Town of Tunbridge,
the Tunbridge Volunteer Fire Department, its officers, or Fire Wardens liable for any
violations of Vermont laws relating to permitted burning.
This acknowledgment is required in accordance with Vermont law, including
10 V.S.A. § 2645, which establishes the authority and responsibilities of Fire Wardens.
